Toilet door comms
A company I was recently contracting for had what some may think is an unconventional communication channel: their toilet cubicles.
I love this idea. It wasn’t just a random array of posters, old consumer brand ads, or this week’s cleaning roster. The company’s toilets were a permanent fixture (slight pun there) in their comms planning strategy. Each month they would plan what was coming, and what needed to be communicated to each section of the company. And toilet doors were part of the strategy.
As were staff noticeboards and kitchen posters, along with the more traditional email updates and monthly newsletters. Using the toilet cubicle doors is a great example of getting important messages into the everyday lives of all staff. It’s not like you can avoid them, right?
What are some other examples of effective internal communication channels?
